Maya Krishnan

I am an Assistant Professor in the Philosophy department at the University of Chicago. Previously, I was an Examination Fellow at All Souls College, and I completed my doctorate at the University of Oxford.

My historical research concerns Kant and German Idealism, with a particular focus on Kant's theology. My contemporary work connects views inspired by German Idealist thinkers with current debates in ethics and epistemology; at the moment, I'm working on projects on autonomy and intelligibility. I combine my scholarly and contemporary work by looking into the afterlife of theological ideas in secular philosophical debates on knowledge and freedom.
